In short — the flight conditions
What you are buying is an introductory flight lesson on an ultralight aeroplane, with an instructor on board. The same points are shown again before payment, and you confirm them there.
- Valid for 12 months — fly when it suits you
- You buy the flight now and fly whenever you like, any time within 12 months of paying. Further down this page you tell us roughly when you would like it — a week, a month, "next summer" — and we agree the exact date a few days beforehand, once we can see the weather.
- It works as a gift
- You can buy the flight for somebody else. Tick the gift box in the order form and give us the name of the person who will fly, if you already know it; if not, tell us later. The confirmation and the invoice come to you. The conditions below — health, weight, age — apply to whoever gets into the aeroplane, and that person signs them at the aerodrome. The flight can be passed on to someone else at any point within the 12 months.
- You may change your mind — 14 days
- For 14 days after paying you can ask for your money back without giving a reason: write to us and we return the full amount to the card you used, within 14 days of your request. That right ends if the flight takes place in the meantime. After the 14 days we no longer refund the money, but the flight remains yours for 12 months and you can give it to someone else.
- The weather decides
- Flying an ultralight needs decent weather. If the day we agreed on turns out unsuitable, we fly another day — rescheduling is free and does not eat into your 12 months.
- You should be in good health
- This is not a medical examination; we rely on what you tell us. Please do not book if you have a heart, lung or neurological condition, epilepsy, severe vertigo, uncontrolled blood pressure, a recent operation, or an ear or sinus problem that makes pressure changes painful. If you are pregnant, or simply unsure, ask your doctor first.
- Maximum 90 kg
- This is an aircraft limit, not a preference: above 90 kg the mass and balance of the aeroplane are outside what the manufacturer allows, and we cannot fly you safely. Tell us beforehand if you are close to that figure, so nobody is turned away on the day.
- No alcohol, no drugs
- No alcohol or psychoactive substances in the 24 hours before the flight, and no medication that affects alertness or balance. You sign the same declaration on the flight record at the aerodrome. The instructor may refuse boarding for this reason, and in that case the flight counts as flown.
- From 12 years up
- Twelve is the lowest age we fly. Up to 18, a parent or legal guardian has to be there at the aerodrome and sign the consent in person — a signature sent ahead is not enough.
- The instructor is in command
- There is a qualified instructor at the controls throughout, and their decisions on the ground and in the air are final. If a flight has to be cut short for safety reasons, we either fly the remainder another day or refund it proportionally — your choice.
- On the day
- Bring an identity document and arrive about 20 minutes early. Before boarding you sign the flight record and a short declaration confirming the points above. The aircraft is insured as required by Regulation (EC) 785/2004.
The summary above is written in plain language; the text that follows is the one that applies if there is ever a disagreement.

Flights take place at Vama Veche Aerodrome, a private airfield, using ultralight aircraft.
2. What we sell
Through this website you can purchase introductory flights and flight lessons, always performed with an instructor on board, within the Aerodrome’s training organisation.
These services are flight introduction and training activities.
The website also takes payment for services for visiting aircraft: the landing charge and aircraft parking, on the apron or in the hangar. They are provided at the aerodrome, on the arrival date given in the order.
Each package states its indicative duration and what it includes. Flight hours completed during lessons may count towards the practical training required for a pilot licence, subject to the applicable aviation regulations.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are shown in Romanian lei and are final prices, VAT included. There are no hidden costs and no delivery charges, as the services are provided at the aerodrome.
Payment is made exclusively online, by card, at the time of ordering, through our payment processor. Card details are never stored by the Aerodrome; they are processed directly by the payment provider in a secure environment.
The order becomes firm once payment is confirmed.
4. Order confirmation
After payment you will receive an e-mail confirmation that serves as your booking, together with the invoice. It states the purchased service and an order number, which we use when scheduling. Details: Delivery Policy.
The confirmation is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and may be used by whoever holds it. For a flight bought for someone else, see section 5.
5. The flight as a gift
The flight can be bought for somebody else. In the order form you tick that it is a gift and, if you already know it, give the name of the person who will fly; otherwise you can tell us later. The confirmation and the invoice are issued to whoever pays.
The booking is transferable: until the flight has taken place, the holder may pass it on to another person by a notice sent to us by e-mail. The 12-month validity still runs from the date of the original payment and is not extended by the transfer.
The participation requirements in section 9 — age, weight, state of health, no alcohol or other substances — apply to the person who boards the aircraft, who signs the flight record and the declaration in person at the aerodrome.
The 14-day right of withdrawal belongs to the buyer, under section 7.
6. Scheduling your flight
The flight date is not fixed at the time of purchase. We agree it together, by phone or e-mail, depending on availability and weather conditions.
In the order form you tell us roughly when you would like to fly — a month, “as soon as possible”, or something more precise. This is an indication, not a firm booking: we confirm the actual date together a few days beforehand, once we can see the weather.
Flying depends on the weather. If conditions on the scheduled day do not allow a safe flight, rescheduling is free and unlimited within the validity period. The decision regarding flight safety rests solely with the instructor and is final.
If you cannot make the scheduled date, please tell us at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer the slot to someone else. Failing to show up without notice may result in losing that slot, although your booking remains valid.
7. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days of its conclusion, without giving any reason and without incurring any costs, under Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014 (implementing Directive 2011/83/EU).
To exercise this right, use the online function “Withdraw from the contract here”, found in the footer of every page: you immediately receive an acknowledgement by e-mail, with the date and time. Any unambiguous statement sent by e-mail to zbor@aerodrom-vama-veche.ro is equally valid. We will refund the full amount using the same payment method, within 14 days of receiving your request.
Exception: under Article 16(l) of the same ordinance, the right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services for which the contract provides a specific date or period of performance. Consequently, once you have confirmed a specific flight date, withdrawal is no longer possible for that flight — rescheduling, however, remains available.
If the service has been fully performed with your express consent, the right of withdrawal is extinguished.
8. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel and obtain a full refund at any time within the 14-day period described above.
After that period, your booking remains valid for 12 months and can be rescheduled at any time within that window, but the amount paid is no longer refundable.
If the Aerodrome definitively cancels a flight and we cannot offer you an alternative date within the validity period, we will refund the full amount paid.
All cases in detail, including services for visiting aircraft: Cancellation and Withdrawal.
9. Participation requirements
For flight safety, participants must meet the following conditions:
- minimum age 12 years; under 18, the flight requires the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, signed at the aerodrome, with that person present;
- maximum weight 90 kg — ultralight aircraft have strict mass limits, so please tell us your weight when booking;
- a general state of health compatible with flying. Please inform us in advance about cardiac, respiratory or neurological conditions, spinal problems, pregnancy or recent surgery;
- alcohol and psychoactive substances in the 24 hours before the flight are prohibited, as is any medication that affects alertness or balance; the instructor may refuse boarding in such cases, without refund.
Comfortable clothing and closed shoes are recommended. Please arrive at the aerodrome at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time.
10. Safety and liability
Flights are conducted by a qualified instructor, on aircraft holding valid airworthiness documents and insurance, in accordance with Romanian aviation regulations.
While at the aerodrome, participants and their companions must follow the staff’s instructions and the aerodrome rules, in particular the prohibition on entering the runway unaccompanied. Children must remain under the permanent supervision of the accompanying adults.
The Aerodrome is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings, nor for damage resulting from failure to observe safety rules or from inaccurate declarations regarding health or weight.
11. Invoicing
We issue an invoice for every order, sent by e-mail and reported through the Romanian national RO e-Factura system, as required by law.
If you need the invoice issued to a company, please provide the company name and tax identification number in the order form. For private individuals, filling in the address is optional.
12. Personal data
We process your data (name, e-mail, phone, city and, optionally, address) in order to perform the contract, issue the invoice and contact you about scheduling your flight. Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
13. Complaints
If something went wrong, write to us at zbor@aerodrom-vama-veche.ro — we reply within 30 days at the latest.
You may also contact the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), www.anpc.ro. Disputes can also be settled by alternative dispute resolution (SAL), under Government Ordinance no. 38/2015, through the ANPC platform: reclamatiisal.anpc.ro.
14. Final provisions
The contract is concluded in Romanian. These terms are governed by Romanian law, and any disputes not settled amicably fall under the jurisdiction of the courts at the Aerodrome’s registered office.
We reserve the right to amend these terms; the version applicable to an order is the one published at the time the order is placed.
